At OKCupid, I was responsible for branding as well as working with the product design team to understand user behavior and better facilitate engagement through functionality and form. One of my first projects was to visually distinguish OKC from other dating sites with a personality that conveys core values. This called for a complete refresh of the Company hub sections that introduced OKCupid as a brand and personality with careful consideration to user experience in addition to visual user interface and interactions.
I've also created a library of various illustration and iconography that serve various OKCupid features, from Flavors to marketing materials to product messaging. All of these are carefully thought-through with concepts dialed to maintain the OKCupid quirky subtleness.
I tackled some projects in which allowed concise, clean understanding of intricate data and information. One project I helped with is theNon-Binary project in which OKCupid provided glossary terms of various orientations and genders, challenging current societal view of sexuality, with quotes from real-life users who give a more personalized definition. The background will change gradient to showcase and further symbolize the fluidity of our gender and sexuality.
